Spark plugs are typically inserted into a hole at the top center of each piston's crown (topping) near its base where the fuel mixes with air before ignition.

 

Ignition Coil:

An ignition coil is a device that converts an alternating current (AC) to a direct current (DC). The coils are used in most automobiles, and they generate the voltage necessary for vehicle use. They may be large, heavy devices on trucks or small units inside of cars. Ignition coils have been replaced by electronic ignitions which need less power than older systems as well as providing more accurate timing signals from their digital circuits.

OEM Market:

The use of automotive ignition in the OEM market has been increasing over time. This is largely due to improvements and innovations made by automobile manufacturers, especially after 2000 following stricter emissions regulations. For example, there was a trend toward more powerful engines with greater displacement that require high power outputs from spark plugs for efficient combustion. These factors led to significant growth in demand for spark plugs and related products such as ignitions coils among automakers since then. Aftermarket:

In the aftermarket, spark plugs are used in vehicles that have been rebuilt. As these cars age, they can develop problems with their fuel injection system or engines failing to start up and running smoothly.
